Book Review - Fiancee for Hire by Tawna Fenske

My Thoughts

Mac needs a bride-to-be for a mission so he goes to his sister and asks for her help. His sister decides a little meddling is in order (payback - see Marine for Hire)  so instead of the sweet and demure that he is requesting, she enlists her bestie Kelli who is the opposite of all that. Kelli has had the hots for her brother and jumps at the chance to help while planning to take advantage of the opportunity to get Mac right where she wants him. Bonus is that she can neuter a large number of cats while she is on location.

Mac doesn't quite know what to think about the firecracker that is Kelli, but learns that she is a marriage phobe just like him. Kelli's dad left when her mom suffered from a mental illness and Mac had something happen to him as a child leaving both of them weary of commitment.

That doesn't stop them from some seriously steamy moments shared though. Walk in closest scene was over the top hot. Don't even get me started on the cuff me to the bed and have your way with me moment...holy hotness! Gotta love that Kelli! She knows exactly what she wants and goes after it.

Now the mission. Had to laugh at the first social moment with the large lizard. Hilarious. Mac asking repeatedly if it was wrong for him to be turned on by her work made me laugh out loud. Getting it on in the bathroom afterwards...HOT AS HELL. Things did get quite dangerous for Kelli on several occasions, but Mac came to the rescue. At one point there was fruit throwing involved. I will tell you that I had no idea who all was involved as far as bad guys go and was definitely surprised at the reveal. Love when that happens.

I absolutely LOVED Mac and Kelli!
I give Fiancee for Hire 5 hearts!

About the Book

A satisfying category romance from Entangled’s brand new Lovestruck imprint…

Falling in love was never part of the plan…

Former Marine MacArthur Patton has made a small fortune on top-secret government contracts and black-ops missions, but his new assignment involves something more dangerous—marriage.

Well, fake marriage anyway.

To keep weapons out of the hands of terrorists, Mac has to secure a fiancée. A sweet, demure, compliant fiancée to serve as his arm candy for a few weeks while he completes the covert arms deal in Mexico. His sister claims to know just the woman, and sends her best friend to play the role.

“Sweet” and “demure” aren’t in Kelli Landers’s repertoire. A badass veterinarian who neuters big dogs and bigger men on a regular basis, she can’t wait to bring Mr. Tall-Dark-and-Detached to his knees. Her longtime crush on the commitment-phobe makes her plan to seduce him even sweeter.

Love wasn’t part of the plan, but the deeper Mac and Kelli fall into their ruse, the more danger they attract, until more than just their hearts are on the line…
