Book Review - One to Love by Tia Louise

My Thoughts

I can't even tell you how much I loved Kenny and Slayde's story. I have been dying to read it since Kenny popped up around Patrick as his BFF. Let me just stop here and highly recommend that you go get his story One to Keep...actually just start at the beginning with One to Hold and read the series all the way through as you will fall for Derek too. Ok so I got off on one of my Patrick tangents, but that is how we first meet Kenny.

Kenny lost her husband a few years ago and is working through it. She decides maybe it's time to get back out there and not hold back anymore. So she takes a chance after a dance and ends up attacked. Rescued by a stranger and she can't stop thinking about him. Slayde is also having a hard time getting her out of his head. Turns out that Slayde just got hired at the gym where Kenny works and they will be spending some time together. Punching bags, gloves, and sweaty Slayde! Oh my! Their chemistry is over the top somebody fan me and get me a bucket of ice hot.  They finally give in to their desires and fall hard for each other. And I mean a hard fall and it was beautiful and heart blasting. For them both to let go of their past...well there's just one more thing and it could very well tear them apart.

I just adore Kenny. My heart broke for her as she mourned a love and it burst for her as she fell head over heels for Slayde. And Slayde...oh. my heart. A broken man that so deserved everything he didn't think he deserved and more. I haven't mentioned much of his story in my review because I want you to experience it yourself. I heart him BIG. Maybe even more than Patrick...

I give One to Love 5 hearts!

Oh how I love Tia...let me count the ways. LOL.

What I love most about her writing is that she has created this world full of people that just invites you in. These are people that you laugh and cry with and lust over (you know that whole Patrick thing). You can't help but get drawn into the stories she creates.

Second she gives good playlist. Seriously the tunes she gathered fit the book perfect.
You can check out the playlist on Spotify here:

Lastly she was just so sweet and gracious when I met her in person at TVAE. I was so nervous and a little fan-girly. She completely overlooked that and hugged me anyway. LOL. Besides being a spectacular writer, she is just a lovely person.

About the Book

Tattoos, bad boys, love...
Boxing, fame, fortune...
Loss.

It's the one thing Kenny and Slayde have in common. Until the night Fate throws them together and everything changes.

It's a story about fighting. It's about falling in love. And it's about losing everything only to find it again in the least likely place.

A STAND-ALONE, ONE TO HOLD NOVEL. New-Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Excerpt

The muscle in his jaw moved, and his voice was a throaty whisper. “Being with you is incredibly easy. Whether it’s a mistake, I guess we have to wait and see. I’d like to think it’s not.”
My body swayed with the movement of his thumbs over my breasts. “I want you to kiss me.”
In one swift movement, his mouth covered mine. An ache of longing moaned from my throat into his lips, and he pulled my bottom lip between his teeth. Wrapped in his arms, tight against his firm chest, heat sizzled under my skin.
He whispered over my lashes as he pressed his lips to my forehead, the scruff of his beard roughing my skin. “I’ve dreamed of holding you this way since that first night. I hated myself for it because you’d been hurt—”
“You kept me from being hurt.” My voice was breathless with desire.
His lips moved back to my cheek, down to my jaw. “You’re so beautiful standing here in the moonlight.”
Dropping to his knees, cool air flooded where the warmth of his body had been. Strong hands moved to my waist, one holding my side, the other flat against my lower back as full lips kissed my stomach through the damp shirt. His mouth moved to my hip, and I felt my legs start to tremble.
“Slayde,” I whispered, barely staying on my feet. It had been so long since I’d been touched this way, I wasn’t sure how much I could bear.
