Book Review - Twice Shy by Jill C Flanagan

My Thoughts

Stacy dreads going home, but has to in order to get something from the mother who was so cruel and abusive to her. So back she goes with the man who helped raise her and became her family. She needs her birth certificate, but ends up with so much more information than that. Quite the shocker.

Another reason she is resistant to going back is the possibility of seeing Brendan again. Years ago he hurt her more than she could have imagined when he made their first time together into a joke. Even more painful was the fact that she watched him do it. She was especially tender because she was just discovering her dominant sexuality which he ridiculed. He does finally have the chance to apologize and asks for a second chance. Things are different now as she is much more secure in who she is, but still isn't ready to open herself up to him quite yet.

I really loved Stacy. Such a strong woman who lived through a horrible childhood. I also loved her relationship with the men who raised her. I wanted Stacy and Brendan to get back together as I love stories of a second chance at love.

I give Twice Shy 4 hearts!

About the Book

Leaving Cutters Creek was the best thing Stacy Jones ever did. Returning is the last thing she ever wanted to do.

Unfortunately it's her only option. If she wants some questions answered, she needs to go back and confront her mother. If she doesn't get the answers she needs, her whole future is at stake.

Eight years ago she ran away when the guy she loved betrayed her in the worst possible way. She's healed from those wounds but can she ever forgive?

Caution
Contains light BDSM elements, an ex-lover who didn't get fat and bald, a cranky ex-military barman, a father-figure Dominant, and a mother who couldn't give a **&^%! oops, I mean two craps about our heroine.

About the Author

Jill has always loved writing and reading. When she was little, she pretended she could fly and had magickal powers. Unfortunately, she has many stitches to prove that she didn't. Paranormal and Urban Fantasy still fascinates her. Although she is a cynic, she loves creating worlds where men are alpha and have depth of emotion. She's only met a couple in the real world, so she finds that she can encounter them more often in her imagination.
