My Thoughts

I am a HUGE fan of everything Lexi Blake has written. My favorite series is most definitely her Masters & Mercenaries series and I couldn't wait to read this book.

That being said I have to admit that for the first time ever I struggled with this one. I liked Vanessa from the start. I hated all that she was going through and all that she had lost. I wanted her to have a man to be her warrior. Michael was my challenge in their story. It took me a bit to warm up to him. Probably because he started out as not so honest, but then neither was Vanessa. I really didn't like that part. Even more so that Julian initiated the investigation. Then he has always been ultra protective of those he loves, so I got that too. Therein lies the struggle. I love this world that Lexi has created and these people were no different. It just took me a minute to warm up to Michael, but he did end up scorching hot and most definitely the warrior that Vanessa deserved. 

Side note: I really can't wait to read MaeBe's story!
