My Thoughts
Dorian was an underground fighter and a ladies man up until he was betrayed by a woman. His best friend was killed and he was captured and tortured by a Guardian enemy. He is rescued by his brothers, but is changed and lives his life at arms length from everyone.
He is in for a BIG surprise as Gregoire's mating ceremony when he scents his mate. Rain is Alyssa's best friend who is human and has been staying at Tetartos because of the danger her friend has been in recently.
Dorian sets everything into motion when he touches her when rescuing her from being kidnapped. He is aware of it, but she isn't. She finds out that she is in the midst of the mating frenzy when she has some blood work done when not feeling well. She realizes that it was him that touched her and confronts him. And it's one hell of a confrontation. He gets all up on her wanting to sex her up and she lets him have it just not in the way he wants it. She tells him that he can't talk to her and treat her that way and think she will mate with him. Then she walks away and I clap loudly. You go, girl.
This is the period of time when I would like to think that Dorian temporarily lost his mind (which he later confirms) and he is just flat out mean and cruel to Rain. He tells her in his own special a-h way that he will never mate with her and then proceeds to steer clear of her.
May I just say that one of his brothers should have pounded him right about now and knocked some sense into this man. I got that he felt the need to suffer because of what happened to his best friend, but at the same time he was choosing for Rain to suffer along with him knowing that there were consequences for her without them mating. Damn the man.
Dorian is surprised again to gain the power to see through her eyes after their confrontation. He basically stalks her for days watching her deal with the frenzy and her loneliness on top of it.
Alyssa decided to take Rain to Paradeisos to relax and get her mind off of everything. Rain makes up her mind to take a massage a bit further to get some relief. Dorian shows up in a rage and ports her away.
FINALLY!
This is the moment when we really begin to see the real Dorian. Ok so he is in the midst of the mating frenzy and a whole lotta out of control after seeing another man's hands on Rain, but it's a start.
And let me just tell you that once Dorian gets started...holy hotness! Not only can he put the naughty words together deliciously, but he can do a whole lot more than just talk about it and get pretty damn creative to boot...especially with water.
I loved that Rain didn't set everything aside once they mated though. She called him out on his bad behavior and told him that he needed to get his head together. That if he couldn't work out the hurt of his past, he would end up leaving again anyway.
There is so much more going on besides their love story within this book. The Guardians and Co. are busy fighting big scary dogs...hellhounds no less. Cyril's crew is still around causing trouble. And there is another mating happening, but I am going to leave that as a surprise for you to discover for yourself. Got a yippee from me. I just have two words to say about them...dreamy loving.
I absolutely LOVED this book!
The Guardians Series ranks up there as one of my favs!
I give Denying Ecstasy 5 hearts!

About the Book
A headstrong sassy mortal, Rain is a Mageia living in
Tetartos, the Realm of beasts and Immortals. Her nights have been restless,
filled with sensual dreams of a big blonde Guardian whose glares indicate he
wants nothing to do with her. She is determined to shake off the odd feelings
until she finds out her dream lover is responsible for her rescue from a
demented Demi-God. In doing so, his touch ignites something rare and coveted.
Something that she’s never anticipated… Something he should have told her about.
Rain is set on making him explain and then feel the full force of her ire.
After a devastating betrayal resulting in the loss of a
close friend a century ago, Dorian refuses to trust or engage with Immortals
other than his Guardian family. His years of brutal fighting in the underground
Immortal rings are over. He patrols the Realms and slakes his lust with the
humans on Earth. Existing, but not living as he used to. He knows the moment he
scents Rain that he has found his mate and after touching her he plans to avoid
her as long as he can... Until he learns she is in danger. Raging, his beast
demands that he go to her, but taking her from their enemy has repercussions he
fully plans to escape at all costs.
For Dorian, finding a way out of mating Rain means he could
succumb to madness and harm those that mean so much to him… but giving in to
his burning urge for her means losing control in a heated mating frenzy sure to
ignite them both and link them forever.

About the Author
Setta Jay
The sad truth is that I’m not nearly as entertaining as
fiction. *Wink* I am a thirty-seven year old stay at home writer, thanks to my
incredibly supportive husband. We’ve been together for thirteen years and I
still love waking up next to that sexy man. We lost our furry child recently,
so we are childless at the moment. Our whole world revolved around her.
Needless to say, I love animals, especially dogs. Okay, maybe not all animals,
I’m not a super big fan of monkeys. Any animal that throws their feces kind of
eeks me out. I may, or may not, have a problem with candy. I love any research
that leads to Neiman Marcus’ online shoe department. Spreadsheets give me way
more happiness than they should. I love to read, the dirtier the better. It all
started with the naughty historical romances by Judith McNaught that I devoured
as a teenager. I love reading about hot, sexy alpha males and heroines that are
smart enough to live.
