I couldn't wait to read this book. I was dying to see what happened to Rosalind once she was taken by the demons during the Third Realm battle. They have had her locked up along with her magic that she could only use to heal those brought to her by the demons. She wasn't even able to heal herself when punished which happened quite often.
Then she awoke to find Vail, the elf prince, in her cell and was made to heal him. Vail is still out of his mind from when he was under the witch's spell. After she is beaten he tells Rosalind to drink from him and in doing so she is bound to him as his fated female. This adds to his madness as he has vowed to kill any witch he comes across because of how he suffered at one's hands. Now he just has to hold off the crazy so they can escape.
I so loved Rosalind and Vail's story. Vail tugged at my heart from the very beginning knowing that he was separated from his brother and kingdom because of the witch's power over him. Then he came to Olivia's rescue during the war and protected him. When he was with Rosalind in the woods and reverted back to how he felt during that time it nearly broke my heart for him. I loved that Rosalind brought him back from the darkness.
