Release Day Blitz - Bittersweet Duet Series by Melissa Jane

Bittersweet Duet Series

Little Doll (Bittersweet Duet #1)

Crimson Desert (Bittersweet Duet #2)

Little Doll (Bittersweet Duet #1)

My Thoughts

Laila has been kidnapped by a cartel because her brother has betrayed them and went into hiding. They believe that having her hostage will bring him out and they can deal with him. This cartel not only deals in drugs, but also trafficks women. Juan and Aiden are the sons of the head of the cartel. Juan is pure evil and is cruel to Laila. She thinks that Aiden is different until she finds out something he has done that is unforgivable. Both men want her which causes major problems between them and isn't good for her either.

Melissa wrote a story that will draw you in from the very beginning and will keep you wondering what is going to happen next. You wonder right along with Laila who she can possibly trust and you want so much for her to survive this nightmare she's living. I love that she never submitted and that she stayed strong through it all.

I give Little Doll 5 hearts!

About the Book

Laila had already overcome many heartbreaking obstacles in her twenty-five years… but none compared to this. With her brother missing and no other family to speak of, Laila has no idea of the evil that shadows her every move. Now in the hands of a notorious cartel family, she quickly learns that trust and betrayal are a deadly mix.

Aiden had a plan. One that was operating smoothly until Laila surfaced in his father’s mansion. With time against him, he must work night and day to right the wrongs that threaten to expose his ultimate betrayal.

Juan and Aiden share many differences, but the one thing that threatens to tear their family apart is the one thing they want to claim as their own, no matter what the costs.

This series continues with Part Two: Crimson Desert (Bittersweet Duet)

Crimson Desert (Bittersweet Duet #2)

My Thoughts

I couldn't wait to read this book after the end of Little Doll. I wanted to see what was going to happen next with Laila. She is now on the run with Aiden who has taken her from the cartel. Of course Juan isn't going to just let her go, so he is chasing them down to get her back and kill Aiden.

This book is pure action from beginning to end. Melissa keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what Aiden is doing and if Laila will ever be free of this nightmare. She will find out a secret that changes everything including her desire to kill Aiden. I won't even tell you what it is except to say that I was totally shocked when it was revealed. Love that about this book.

I give Crimson Desert 5 hearts!

Synopsis

Now back across the border, LAILA realizes that all had not been as it seemed at the Florez mansion. Learning to trust the man she wanted dead was going to take time. Time was not on her side.

For AIDEN, the damage was done. There was no going back. Except for one thing… revenge.

Giving up was never an option for JUAN. Not even now when everything had changed. He lived and breathed the thrill of the chase and this time the end prize was too great to lose.

This is a dark story where the taste for love and revenge clash in the most unforgiving ways.
