My Thoughts
Joey and Kat are thrown together quite a bit since all of their friends are paired up and in love. They both have feelings for each other, but haven't done anything about it. When Joey's friend dies he realizes that it's time to go after his happily ever after and that includes Kat. Kat resists dating him because of his reputation and an ex that doesn't want to be an ex anymore. Joey asks for one date and a chance and she gives that to him. They begin to open their hearts to each other and realize that they are in love with each other. Then something horrifying happens that could tear them apart. My heart was in my throat as I read this situation unfold. It was heart wrenching not only for them, but for everyone in their life.
I so loved Joey and Kat together. They are playful and passionate with each other. Joey is really good at surprises and it brought tears to my eyes. Then there is the whole expressing himself with song which was just so sweet. When I was finished reading their story I wanted more.

About the Book
Joey McMillian is man that everyone loves. Women fall at his feet everywhere he goes, and men want to be him. Working at the fire department in the small shore town where he grew up, staying close to the only constant in his life, his best friends, has been all Joey thought he wanted in life.
