Blog Tour - The Redemption by S.L. Scott

My Thoughts

Rochelle lost her husband in an accident and their dreams. She is grieving and Dex is there for her when she really needs someone to lean on. The only problem is that she has feelings for him that she isn't ready to deal with. So a few years go by and there's Dex. Still there. Waiting for her. The feelings for him haven't gone away and she is still fighting the guilt of moving on with her life. Dex asks her to start over with him and she agrees. He begins to spend time with her and her boys. This man is delicious. Sexy with a sweet heart to boot.

The path for them isn't an easy one. Rochelle fights it pretty hard along the way. She at times was hurtful to him. There were a few times I wanted to give her a shake. I loved that Dex didn't give up. He knew that she was the one for him and waited out her indecision. I so wanted them to have their happily ever after. This book made me laugh, cry, and definitely swoon. I couldn't put it down until the very end.

I give The Redemption 4 hearts!

About the Book

He was everything she never wanted. Yet, she couldn’t stop thinking about him.

Soulful, amber eyes

A sex, drugs, and rock n’roll reputation

A body that beckoned for sin

Three years ago Rochelle Floros was living her dream come true… then lost it all. On the worst day of her life, the last person she expected to be there for her was a rock star and tabloid favorite. Now, she’s trying to rebuild her life after the tragedy that destroyed her fairytale. Slowly, she found herself captivated by a sexy, bad boy drummer she had known for years.

Rochelle was caught between the grief that shrouded her heart and the charismatic man that made it race. What she didn’t know is if he was being sincere or toying with her heart. The Redemption is about finding the pulse of your soul in the most unlikely places and giving love a chance to grow.

Can what she wants really be what she needs? With his rhythm and her passion, can they make music together? Or will their harmony be lost forever?

I pull my hand away slowly, leaving all the feelings we were developing behind in
the palm of his hand. “The timing is wrong.”
“Bullshit!”
Startled, I jump in my seat.
Lowering his voice, he says, “That’s a cop out. I know you feel something for me.
I see how you react because I also feel it when I’m around you. There’s something here
and you’re just scared.”
“Scared of what?”
“Scared to have a life without Cory and thinking you have to justify it to others.
The problem with that is that when you start justifying it, it will make you feel like your
love for Cory was less. It wasn’t. It’s just different. He’s not here, Rochelle.”
“Stop it. Stop talking about Cory and take me home.”
“Now you want to stop talking about him?” He looks surprised. “I can’t win with
you when it comes to him.” He shifts the car into drive.
“This is not a competition, Dex.”
Disappointment slides onto his face. “Then why is he being shoved in my face
every time we make a move?”
“This is one of the reasons why we won’t work. We see things very differently.”
“One of the reasons? Name another because from where I sit, we fit like two
puzzle pieces clicking together.”
“You’re a supposed recovering addict. You have sex with anyone who offers.
“That’s it. Right there. You play like you know who I am, but you don’t. That’s
why the lies are so easily believed. I can tell what you’re doing. You’re giving me an out
that I don’t want. You’re allowing yourself to believe the worst about me to ease your
conscience, but it won’t—”
“You know what? Not everything is about you and your past. You lost a band
mate and friend, but I lost my soulmate!”

Blog Tour - Love Me To Death by Marissa Clarke

My Thoughts

There's a whole lot of action and sexiness rolled into the first book in The Underveil Series. There isn't time to sit back and relax. We get right into things after Elena is introduced and she gets pulled into a world she couldn't have imagined with slayers, vampires, shifters, sorcerers, and so much more. Talk about being on the edge of your seat. You barely have enough time to sit down before you are grabbed by the collar and drug right into the mix of this fantastic story. She has arrived to a world that is is full of chaos where she is in danger and being hunted. To top it off the slayer sent to end her is who she is attracted to.

This is the beginning of one of those epic stories that you can't put down and can't wait for the next book in the series. I loved it and I am totally hooked.

I give Love Me To Death 5 hearts!

About the Book

Medical research scientist Elena Arcos has always lived her life under the radar. When she is shot in a convenience store robbery, Elena finds herself rocketed into supernatural insanity courtesy of a sexy immortal law enforcer. He’s convinced she’s some kind of freaky half-vampire thing and that her deceased dad was the real deal: a blood sucking monster. Yeah, right.

Nikolai Itzov never anticipated battling the urge to kiss the offspring of his father’s murderer. As a Slayer, an elite law enforcer descended from Azrael himself, his orders from the Underveil General are clear: Kill her or die.

Nikolai and Elena find themselves in a life and death battle to stop a plot designed to lift the Underveil and enslave humans. With her analytical mind and his centuries of training, they might be able to foil the plot with their lives and maybe their hearts intact. But in order to succeed, he must help her become the very thing he hates the most: an Undead.

Blog Tour - Wasted Love by Danielle Jamie

Title: Wasted Love
Series: Brooklyn #1
 Author: Danielle Jamie
 Release Date: October 28, 2014

WARNING

Prepare to laugh your butt off and become extremely hot & bothered! Brooklyn Bennett breaks the mold when it comes to female heroines she is not your average chick! She loves sex, hot guys, and her best friend Savannah fiercely and has a slight obsession with Jared Leto.

My Thoughts

I couldn't wait to ready Brooklyn's story. I loved her while reading Savannah's story and knew hers would be fantastic. I wasn't disappointed.

Brooklyn moves in with Savannah and proceeds to find two yummy guys to do the whole friends with benefits thing. Xander is the rock star who rocks her world. He's tatted and pierced in all the right places and sure knows how to naughty talk. Jax is the Aussie who slays her with his accent and his body. He pushes all the right buttons for her. They both agree to the arrangement as they aren't looking for a relationship any more than Brooklyn is right now.

Then she meets Dixon who is Kayden's cousin and he gives her the tingles anytime they touch. Everything is different with him and she isn't sure what to think about that. Their night together under the stars changes everything for both of them.

I so love Brooklyn. She is strong and sassy. She is secure in the woman that she is and she loves the people in her life fiercely. I love the relationship she has with Savannah which is more like sisters than best friends. I can't wait to read what happens next for her.

I give Wasted Love 5 hearts!

About the Book

You got to know me in my best friend Savannah’s series. Now it’s my turn to tell you my story and for you to see my best friend's journey to her happily ever after through my eyes.

My life is far from the norm. First off, I’m not your average girl. I’m wild, crazy, and everyone who knows me say’s I’m a free spirit. I guess I am, because I don’t sweat the little things.

Life is too short.

I love hard and live harder. My dream is to become a star and that dream comes first and foremost before anything and anyone...except for my best friend Savannah, who I'd go to hell and back for. At 24 years old, I’m not looking for love. I’m just looking for a good time and a nice distraction after busting my butt on a movie set all week. The thought of falling in love has never crossed my mind. I’m too driven for love and everything that comes with it.

That is until I meet a certain Southern hottie by the name of Dixon Beaumont, who just so happens to be the cousin of Kayden Knox. He flips my world upside down the moment we meet.

The only problem is he’s the male version of me: Career driven and enjoying having a good time with no plans on settling down.

Throw in a bad boy rocker and a sweet Aussie and I find myself going from a simple, carefree life to a full-blown love square. It’s going to be dramatic. But hey, what’s life without a little drama?

I can feel my bed dip slightly as I sense someone climbing into bed and lying beside me. The heat from their body travels through my thin cami. I know I’m not dreaming as soon as I feel a hand touch my thigh and slowly begin to travel up my side.

I’m lying on my side, facing the large wall of windows that overlook Houston as the moonlight glistens through the room. Other than the light from the moon and the clock on my stand, the entire bedroom in engulfed in darkness.

I blink, trying to get my eyes to focus. Everything is blurry, and my body feels as if it’s still in a dream. I glance towards the glowing clock on the nightstand to see what time it is. It’s just a little after six in the morning; I’ve only been asleep for a few hours.

Rolling onto my back, I raise my hands up above my head to stretch, causing a tiny squeak to slip out of my mouth. Coming into focus beside me is Jax.

Am I still dreaming?

Pinching a piece of skin on my forearm, I shout, “Ouch…I guess I’m not dreaming?” and let out a small giggle.

Jax’s eyes smile down at me, glowing in the moonlight illuminating my bed. “Nope. You’re definitely not dreamin’, baby.” His words, mixed with the sensation of his fingers trailing up and down my thigh, cause my body to erupt in goose bumps. My core tightens with anticipation as his fingers slowly slide higher up my leg and work their way towards my inner thigh.

Closing my eyes momentarily, I inhale deeply before opening my eyes and locking them with Jax’s.

“You came back?”

His hand stops moving, and he gives my leg a gentle squeeze. “I couldn’t sleep. I’ve been tossing and turning in there all night. The image of you half-naked in here with just a thin wall between us was driving me absolutely mad.”

He’s leaning on his left arm, with his head resting in the palm of his hand as his brown eyes search my face. His fingers begin their course again, making their way up my body agonizingly slowly. Just as his fingers get to the edge of my panties, he runs them over the thin fabric separating us, causing my eyes to slam back shut and a shudder to shoot through my sex as it clenches with anticipation of his fingers entering me.

Finally, after what feels like an eternity, he slides the thin fabric of my panties to the side, all the while never taking his eyes off mine. With a perfect pace, he begins moving his fingers over my sex, spreading my juices from my entrance to my clit.

My eyes momentarily roll back as I feel a spark ignite in my core.
“This is your last chance to back out, Brooklyn. Once I start, there’s no way in hell I’ll be able to stop.”

If you are wondering who I am, then I'm here to tell you. Timberlyn is the sweeter alter ego of New York Times bestselling author Nicole Edwards.

I can hear the question now... Why? Why do you have another pen name?

It actually came about when a storyline developed in my head. As I saw it coming together, I knew it was vastly different than what Nicole Edwards writes. So, it was then that I was created.

Anyway... Thanks for stopping by. I'm so glad you did.

My Thoughts

Lauren is a teacher who wants to open a school. She needs and architect and finds Matthew. There is an instant chemistry between them, but Lauren avoids the possibility of a relationship as she wants to concentrate on the school. Not only is Matthew sweet, sexy, and funny as all get out, but he is also a persistent man who knows exactly what he wants and goes after it full force. He wants Lauren.

I really loved Matthew. He was delicious. Lauren frustrated me as I had trouble understanding why she felt like she couldn't have both Matthew and the school. I really liked that he wasn't about to give up on her.

I give Underneath It All 4 hearts!

 About the Book

If I had known I'd have a hot architect balls deep inside of me before the end of the weekend, I'd have made time for a pedicure.

Lauren

It's all the little things—the action plans, the long-kept promises—that started falling apart when my life slipped into controlled chaos.

 After I met Matthew Walsh.

I couldn't decide whether I wanted to run screaming or rip his pants off, and most days I wanted a little of both. If I was being honest with myself, it was rip his pants off, ride him like a workhorse, and then run screaming.

Matthew

A rebellious streak ran through Lauren Halsted. It was fierce and unrelentingly beautiful, and woven through too many good girl layers to count, and she wasn't letting anyone tell her what to do.

Unless, of course, she was naked.

She wasn't looking for me and I sure as shit wasn't looking for her, but we found each other anyway and now we were locked in a battle of wills, waiting for the other to blink.

Sometimes the universe conspires to bring people together. Other times, it throws people down a flight of stairs and leaves them in a bruised and bloodied heap.

Q&A with Kate

What made you write this book?

The Walsh Series originated from a project I was consulting on last year. An educational organization was attempting to get the legislature to revise regulatory guidance around repurposing Industrial Revolution-era mills and factories for schools, and I met an incredible team of architects in the process. They were some of the most brilliant, complex individuals I'd ever encountered, and they were ridiculously adorable, too. At the time, I was also running into brick walls with my work-in-progress. I took a vacation from that manuscript and started imagining a family of brilliant, adorable architects, and within a few days, Patrick, Matthew, Shannon, Riley, Sam, and Erin were born.

Do either of your characters relate you to or someone close to you?

One of my beta readers is also very close to me, and she suggests that touches of me and others in my world show up in my characters, but none of my characters are based on anyone else. In fact, I've tried that and failed – my characters have a mind of their own, and pushing them to conform to preexisting models of speech, behavior, or motivation doesn't work well for me.

What can we expect from your book that's so different from other authors out there?

"Architects are a rare breed, and the Walshes take it one step further by dedicating themselves the worlds of sustainability and historic preservation. They're creative and instinctual, and know something about expertly tailored suits and husky growls, and the genre hasn't introduced us to many of their kind. Beyond the focus on architecture is my desire to write people that we think we know, but we have no idea. Andy and Lauren are great examples of characters we think we know – their types – but when we peel it all back, we realize we didn't know them as well as we thought.

What is your writing process like?

My brain is a little funky. I'm quite talented with action plans and project management, but I hate forcing myself into those parameters. I can outline a book, but I'll start writing and promptly deviate from the outline. After fighting all of my instincts, I stopped with the structures and apps and rules, and just let the words flow. It exists in a chaotic ecosystem in my head, and I'm praying the dementia doesn't set in too soon.

Excerpt

Tipsy. I was definitely tipsy. Tequila was to blame for the current state of blissfully inebriated affairs, such as they were. His tie sat crisply folded beside his beer bottle, green with small pink shapes, and the collar of his white shirt gaped open. And I wanted to taste him right there. It was late, the bar nearly empty, and far, far past the proper end for a normal business meeting, but this stopped being a business meeting when we walked through the door. None of my other first dates—or fourths, for that matter—involved hole-in-the-wall bars or innuendo-laced discussions of architecture. They never involved Matthew Walsh either. This was all rather peculiar, much like that fun, buzzy feeling in my body. He smiled at me, a smug, knowing expression that told me he was watching my inhibitions evaporate by the minute. "If you hadn't come out with me? What would you be doing tonight?" "I'm not winning at work-life balance these days," I said with a grimace. "I'd probably be working on a few overdue projects." Matthew held up his palm and I stared at it for an embarrassingly long time before meeting his high five. His fingers laced with mine, and for a moment, I could only gape at the way they layered together. He was touching me and I liked it, and somewhere in my head I knew this was strange. I wasn't into boys right now. I mean, I wasn't into girls, either, but I wasn't doing the whole boys and dates and worry about whether I shaved my legs thing. "Balance is overrated." I laughed. "Yeah? And what would you be doing? If you didn't maneuver me into drinking with you all night, that is." "Maneuver? That's strong." He rubbed his thumb against my palm, and I bit down on my lip to prevent the tipsy giggles from leaking out. It was just a thumb circling a palm, and it shouldn't have been especially delightful, but if confronted with a choice between this and calorie-free cupcakes, I saw no contest. I liked this, and I didn't want it to stop.

  About the Author

Kate doesn't have it all figured out, but this is what she knows for sure: spicy-ass salsa and tequila solve most problems, living on the ocean--Pacific or Atlantic--is the closest place to perfection, and writing smart, smutty stories is a better than any amount of chocolate. She started out reporting for an indie arts and entertainment newspaper back when people still read newspapers, and she has been writing and surreptitiously interviewing people—be careful sitting down next to her on an airplane—ever since. Kate lives on the water in Rhode Island with Mr. Canterbary and the Little Baby Canterbary, and when she isn't writing sexy architects, she's scheduling her days around the region's best food trucks.
