My Thoughts
Max and Belle's story is one of young love and a second chance. These two fell in love as teens and when tragedy happened they were separated. I so enjoyed reading about how they fell for each other. I totally understood why Max was traumatized, but that didn't stop me from wanting to give him a shake or two for what he put Belle through. I also saw why she made the decision that she did as her world was turned upside down with his actions and words. My heart broke for her. Bella does such a fantastic job making Belle's emotions so wrenching that you can't help but feel her pain. They are brought back together when her mother is ill and she comes home to take care of her. Belle has her own secrets and when the truth comes out it will shake up Max's world. I have to admit that it was hard to get back to liking Max with what he did to run Belle off. I wanted him to see the error of his ways and beg her to take him back. I didn't want her to take so much blame for what happened. Even feeling that I couldn't help but want them back together and for them to get their happily ever after.
