Book Review - Play by Kylie Scott

Life’s a song, Anne. Let’s play.
-  Mal

My Thoughts

Anne comes home to find everything in her apartment gone including her roommate who she thought was her friend. Instead of letting her wallow in the pain of the betrayal, her friends instead take her to a party where she meets her teenage rockstar crush, Mal. When he overhears her situation he offers a plan that will help them both. He will move in with her and cover expenses and she can pretend to be his girlfriend. Thus begins the rollercoaster ride.

I fell head over heels for this drummer boy! Mal is full of fun and laughter, yet has a sexy and sensitive side as well. The chemistry between Mal and Anne is sizzling and I love that he encourages her to play more since she has had to be so serious for so long.

Play ranks up there as one of my favorite books that I have read this year. I loved it.

I definitely give Play 5 hearts!

About the Book

Kylie Scott returns with the highly anticipated follow-up to international bestseller Lick.

Mal Ericson, drummer for the world famous rock band Stage Dive, needs to clean up his image fast—at least for a little while. Having a good girl on his arm should do the job just fine. Mal doesn’t plan on this temporary fix becoming permanent, but he didn’t count on finding the one right girl.

Anne Rollins never thought she’d ever meet the rock god who plastered her teenage bedroom walls—especially not under these circumstances. Anne has money problems. Big ones. But being paid to play the pretend girlfriend to a wild life-of-the-party drummer couldn’t end well. No matter how hot he is. Or could it?
