Book Review - No Rules by Starr Ambrose

My Thoughts

No Rules is the first book in the Omega Group Series and spends some time filling you in on all the members and how it came to be.

This one is all about Tyler and Jess. Tyler is super sexy and strong while Jess is a bit of a mess understandably so with the lasting effects of her mentally unstable mom. Thank goodness they balance each other out though.

This is a gripping story with a whole lot of action and some romance to boot. I so enjoyed their story and can't wait to read the following books in the series.

I give No Rules 4 hearts!

About the Book

Jess Maulier's estranged father was more than the quiet professor of linguistics he appeared to be – she is shocked to discover he was also an operative for a covert group that rescues hostages.  Before he died he left Jess a vital clue to a rescue.  Unfortunately, it's in the form of a children's story, and she has no idea what it means. Though she resents the close professional and personal relationship the handsome and dangerous Tyler Donovan had with her absentee father, she turns to him for help.

But Tyler doesn't know how to interpret the story, either. An attempt to decipher it takes them to Egypt, where danger ignites sparks between them. Tyler can't get involved, though—Professor Shikovski advised him never to risk emotional attachments—and Jess tempts him more than could ever be safe. No matter how enticing she is, he has to maintain his distance to preserve his focus. But only mutual trust can save them from encroaching danger.

About the Author

The dry facts: Small-town girl goes to big university, marries her true love, and is lucky enough to live in the country and be a full-time mom to two daughters.  Ho-hum.  But a nagging desire to write stories kept her up late, filling page after page with what excited her most – smart women, dangerous situations, and men who were both smart and dangerous – yum!  As her life got busier, schlepping kids and horses to local horse shows, taking in stray dogs and cats, the after-hours pages kept adding up.  At first, publishers were not interested.  Then moderately interested.  Then interested enough to offer a book contract!  Writing became the best full-time job a girl could have, every day filled with exciting people, enviable adventures, and guaranteed happy endings.
