I'm just going to get this out of the way first...
I LOVED this book!
Cora gets mugged and Rafael comes to her rescue. He had already spotted her on the sidewalk while heading to his car and was intrigued by her. Then he promises to find her purse that was taken and makes sure she gets home safely. That's how it begins...the freight train named Raphael. He barrels right into her life offering Cora a job and taking her to bed. She tells him reluctantly about why she may have to leave - the monster that won't let her go. She finds out exactly who Raphael is and the danger he unknowingly put her in both from the monster that could find her and his ex that may or may not want him back and will do whatever it takes to make that happen.
Damn this was a hot read with so much happening. Between those super steamy moments shared by Cora and Raphael to the underlying danger of the monster and the cartel, I couldn't put it down. Now I am dying to see what happens next.
I give Illicit Desire 5 hearts!
