Layla runs a bar that Blade has been coming to for a year. He sits at the same table each time and drinks the same drink. Layla comes face to face with him when he intervenes in a situation she has regarding her business partners debts. Their chemistry is off the charts. At the same time Blade is dealing with his douche dad Marcus who cheats and beats both his wife and mistress who happens to be Blade's mom. She has turned Marcus away who isn't thrilled with that to say the least. At the same time Marcus' wife has also showed him the door and is now working at Layla's bar. Now if that wasn't enough to deal with add in his brother, Scott's issues with the MC that Marcus heads up and is bringing them reluctantly into the drug scene again. With everything that Marcus has done to him and everyone he cares about, Blade very much wants to kill him.
I love Layla and Blade together and that she separates their life from everything else just by calling him Donovan. I couldn't wait to read Blade's story after getting a peek at him in previous books. I just knew he would be delicious. He is strong, passionate, protective, and most definitely Layla's soul mate. I loved their story big.
I am totally addicted to Nina's Storm MC series and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
