Book Review - Lord of Misrule by J.S. Hope

My Thoughts

Alex is after the story that will validate her and get her on the road to the Pulitzer she longs to receive for her investigative reporting. It is a story about a secret sex society that celebrates a festival each year to bring them power and wealth. She takes off to Venice and meets with her friend to gather more information. He sends her an envelope that includes details about a man named Paolo who has connections with the group she is looking for. She knows that the first step will be getting close to Paolo, but doing so will put her life in danger and begins her path towards the truth. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I give Lord of Misrule 4 hearts!

About the Book

Reporter Alessandra “Alex” Donati is in Venice chasing the story of her career. While the city prepares for the Christmas festivities, Alex is hot on the trail of a group that celebrates a much older – and much darker – festival, one that offers sex and sacrifice in exchange for power and wealth.

Alex’s first move is to try and get close to billionaire tycoon and suspected cult member, Paolo Galvan. In order to do that, she’d going to have to entice him with something money can’t buy, something that’s both outside his experience and outside his control...herself.
