My Thoughts
When Mac's friend Sully is injured she takes his place in the wind quintet he belongs to for the Christmas concerts. This is a very big deal as Mac hasn't performed in quite some time due to anxiety caused by an attack years before. To make things both more difficult and interesting at the same time this brings Finn into her life. He has some issues as well from his past that makes him a total jerk to her for using medication for the anxiety. This of course is before he knows her story. When I say jerk that is putting it lightly. But beneath all of their issues is a desire for each other that they don't fight for long.
This was a fantastic first book for Sadie and I can't wait to read the next books in the series.
I give One Gold Heart 4 hearts!
About the Book
Mac Wallis agrees to join the wind quintet, Dominant Cord,
for the Christmas concert season as a favour to an old friend. It's her first
step towards recovery after a vicious attack more than a decade before.
However, sparks fly when Dominant Cord's unofficial leader, flutist, Finn
Taylor takes issue with Mac's reliance on medication in order to perform.
Mac can't understand why the asshole who so completely
humiliated her at their first rehearsal keeps showing up in her late-night
fantasies as the Dom of her dreams. It's not even like he's the good kind of
bad boy.
After his marriage ended in disaster, Finn tries to steer
clear of damaged women, but as a Dom, he feels compelled to put aside his own
hang-up to help Mac reclaim her independence and her former life.

Sadie Haller is a Canadian writer living a somewhat nomadic

'whither thou goest, my love' attitude, particularly when it involves
navigating some spectacularly convoluted European bureaucracy.
