My Thoughts

Maddy.

If there is any trauma that you can go through prior to the age of 15, that Maddy has experienced the worst at the hands of her parents. She captured my heart from the very beginning. She at 15 enters an arranged marriage with a man whose first words are "forgive me" and first action is to slice her hand to sign the marriage agreement with her blood. She has no one to trust except her brother and he has absolutely no power to do anything. Then after all that drama she has to return to school to experience more trauma at the hands of bullies.

Santos.

How I wanted him to be the savior in this story. He has way more information on what this "plan" for his family is in all of this. The truth is that he doesn't have anyone he can trust completely either. He has a creepy brother and a power hungry mother on his side which is no bonus in the long run. So you feel a bit for him in all of this too.

This is an edge of your seat story of greed, distrust, trauma, and hopefully love. I will warn you that there is a cliffhanger with this story that will rock your world. I am dying to see what happens next.
