Slade has taken in Jessica while she heals from her injuries that she suffered at the hands of her ex. She and Slade become close and after him asking her out many many times, she finally agrees to date him. They grow so close falling hard for each other. Slade is working on construction in the gym and Jessica is making plans for her yoga studio. Then her ex corners her and threatens that if she doesn't break it off with Slade, he will hurt them both. She does so even though it breaks both of them. It isn't until something happens that the truth comes out and everything changes.

I heart Slade. BIG. He is funny and sexy and protective and so much more for Jessica. And sexy doesn't even cover their steamy moments together. What I loved most about their story is that outside of the whole ex thing, their love story felt real. Almost like you were witnessing two friends fall in love and begin a life together. I adored their circle of friends as well. I couldn't stop reading and when I was done, I wanted more.
